ARK is a faith-based program designed to help kids, teens, and adults plan, prepare, and preserve themselves and others with the Scriptures and proper education in vital areas of their lives. The Ark is a place of safety. It was planned and prepared to preserve and help prosper the next generation, and that is what we’re here to do.
A – Attitude:
Pro 23:7a For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.
It all starts with how we process information, realizing that I am the only one that controls how I think and learning how to process things correctly - learning how to accept the good thoughts and reject the bad ones, learning how to set my mindset. Learn to be a thermostat, not a thermometer. I choose how I feel, not my circumstances.
Attitude towards myself:
Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Not too high, not too low. I do not look down on anyone, and I do not look up at anyone.
Attitude towards Authority:
Heb 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
Respect and manners go a long way. Respect starts with me. I respect myself, so I respect others.
Attitude towards others:
Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Learning to put myself in the correct friend group, not allowing people to bring me down. Make sure that our goals align. Learn to put others first. True joy only comes when I help others to succeed.
R - Ready
1Pe 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
Ready with my body:
1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
Doing my best to maintain proper hygiene and appearance for my sake because I’m worth it.
Being ready with skills:
Pro 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Learning and growing myself. I may not be good at it, but I can do it.
Being ready with my finances:
Heb 6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Learning early to save and invest, and properly allocate my resources.
K -Knowledge
Pro 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Knowledge is not only the ability to collect information, but the wisdom to apply it. It has been said “It’s not what you know, but who you know." In truth, it IS about what you know and when you don’t know, knowing where to go to get the answers.
Knowledge of myself:
Pro 24:5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
Learning my strengths and weaknesses, building on my strengths and addressing my weaknesses. I am capable of doing more if I try.
Knowledge of the past:
Pro 10:14 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.
Learning from other people and their successes and failures. I do not have to make the same mistakes that others have made, and I can build on the successes of others.
Knowledge of the future:
Pro 18:15 The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.
Realizing the eventual and planning as much as possible for the future - financially, physically, and spiritually.
